What else can we call it? Some products boast of their nothingness in calories, fat or sugar. We’ve heard that our phones are wireless, our tires are tubeless, our population jobless and our leaders shameless. Thank God, we are not hopeless!
You wearied yourself by such going about, but you would not say, ‘It is hopeless.’ You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint. (Isaiah 57:10, NIV)
And where can we find that renewal of strength?
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10, NIV)
In fact, Peter suggests we do nothing unless it is with the strength God provides.
If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 4:11b)
Prayer: Great Almighty God, thank you for Your strength. It gives us courage to go on. Amen.
