If you are researching your family tree, there are two basic rules. One- Start with what you know. Two- Work backwards.
Once in a while, I’ve had to follow these rules to my faith. You see, I’ve had times when God gave me answers I didn’t like. I had to remind myself that God never failed me before and that he wouldn’t fail me now. I remembered how he brought me through child abuse and cancer, even widowhood, and how I learned by experience, that he would leave me nor forsake me.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV)
Investigate it for yourself.
Prayer-Lord, help us remember and use the two basic rules and start with what we know about you and work backwards to remember how faithful you are. Amen.
