We as women have an important role to play in the lives of our husbands. The Bible has lots of good and bad examples for us to follow.
Yes, we hear about Eve all the time. She did eat that apple but maybe her sin was more about not discussing a problem with her partner husband. (Genesis 3).
There is Delilah who stopped her man, Samson, from following God. (Judges 16:6) and Job’s wife didn’t support her sick husband but instead told him to die (Job 2:9).
Rebekah conspired with her child to trick her husband; (Genesis 27:6) while David’s wife made fun of him in public (2 Samuel 6:16).
Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less. (C.S. Lewis)
When we put our husband’s needs before our own, we won’t behave like these women did and our husbands will return our love with their own.
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (Ephesians 5:28, NIV)
Prayer- Father, we strive to be kind to our spouses and so strengthen our family standing. Amen.
