Philippians 3:15-16– let those who are spiritually mature and full grown, have this in mind and hold these convictions, and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also. Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that. (AMP)
We were on a quest to get new shoes for grandson Daniel. I squeezed the end of his little boots and repeatedly asked, “Daniel, where are your toes?” My questions were answered with a silent stare. Once more, I carefully explained to this little two-year-old that he needed to help us by telling us where his toes were. Finally, in disgust, he cried out, “Amma! My toes are in my shoes!”
Oh, the times we have begged God for answers. How shall I walk, God? Who should I marry? Is this job the right one for me? How should I answer that comment? Will I ever get out of this situation? Endless questions. And often we hear only silence. The answer is only silence. And in that silence, God is saying, “Dear child, your toes are in your shoes. Walk according to My Word, according to what you know to be true and when the shoes are too small, I will get you a new pair.”
Prayer: Lord, remind us again and again. Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and our toes are in our exactly the right-sized shoes, so that we can walk in them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
